Recently, an outbreak of Nipah virus has been reported in West Bengal, India, with five confirmed cases to date, including one severe case.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Nipah virus (NiV) is a zoonotic virus that can be transmitted from animals to humans, through contaminated food, or via direct human-to-human contact. In infected individuals, the disease can range from asymptomatic or mild infection to acute respiratory illness and fatal encephalitis.

Early signs and symptoms of NiV infection are non-specific and often not recognized at initial presentation, posing challenges to timely diagnosis, early outbreak detection, and the effective implementation of infection control and response measures.

As NiV continues to circulate in endemic regions with potential for cross-border spread, the need for rapid, sensitive, and scalable molecular diagnostics is increasingly urgent. Primary testing methods include real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) for the detection of viral RNA in clinical specimens such as blood, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, and nasopharyngeal swabs, along with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) for the identification of NiV-specific antibodies.

Workflow

Early-stage detection of vector-borne viruses demands fast, reliable RNA extraction—often from low-viral-load blood or plasma samples, where timing is critical.

Vazyme’s automated RNA extraction system is purpose-built for this challenge, delivering high-throughput, contamination-free purification with minimal manual intervention.Pre-validated reagent kits, combined with a robust extraction platform, ensure consistent yield and high RNA purity across diverse sample types. Whether supporting public health labs, clinical research, or outbreak response, our solution provides the sensitivity and speed needed to act without delay.

  • Scalable Extraction, Built for Speed and Efficiency

Vazyme provides two nucleic acid extraction platforms designed to meet diverse testing demands.
The
Automatic nucleic acids extraction instrument (Vazyme #VNP-32) supports 1–32 samples per run with broad compatibility across extraction kits—ideal for on-site investigations and low-throughput workflows. For large-scale operations, the Automatic nucleic acids extraction instrument (Vazyme #VNP-96) enables high-throughput extraction of 96 samples in just 19 minutes.

This dual-platform flexibility empowers users to scale testing efficiently, whether in mobile settings or centralized laboratories. By reducing turnaround time and lowering per-sample costs, Vazyme’s extraction solutions maximize operational efficiency without compromising on performance or reliability.

  • Automation-friendly and easy to use

Plug-and-play workflow with minimal manual operation, suitable for both centralized and mobile laboratories.

  • Optimized for Sensitivity, Built for Vector-Borne Detection

Optimized for insect-based samples, ensures robust RNA recovery and high detection rates, even with low-copy targets—reducing the risk of false negatives.

In outbreak response, speed and accuracy are non-negotiable.

Vazyme’s one-step RT-qPCR solution integrates reverse transcription and amplification into a single-tube workflow—reducing hands-on time, minimizing contamination risk, and enabling rapid detection of low-copy viral RNA.Optimized for mosquito-borne viruses such as NiV, Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya, and Yellow Fever, this system features enhanced enzymes, a refined buffer formulation, and fast cycling compatibility. Whether deployed in field surveillance or laboratory diagnostics, AccurSTART II U+ One Step RT-qPCR Super Premix (Fast & One Tube) (Vazyme #Q631) delivers sensitive, scalable performance—ready to support vector-borne virus monitoring at any scale.

  • One-Step Reaction: Support Full-premixing of Primers, Probes and Mix

  • Ready When You Are: Stable, Pre-mixed Reagent for Flexible Deployment

Q631 is designed to support streamlined workflows—even when preloaded with primers and probes for singleplex or multiplex assays. Stability studies showed that fully assembled mixes remained stable for up to 1 year at 4°C and 7 days at 37°C, compared to -20°C controls.

This exceptional stability enables long-term storage and pre-configuration of assay-ready reactions, reducing prep time and simplifying deployment in both routine and emergency testing scenarios.

  • High Sensitivity — Maintained in Fast Protocol

Amplification curve comparison between the fast protocol and standard RT-qPCR setup. The rapid protocol achieves comparable sensitivity with significantly shorter run time.

293 RNA was serially diluted in 10-fold gradients across 8 concentrations, covering a linear range from 0.1 fg/μL to 1 μg/μL. The amplification efficiency reached up to 99.9%.

  • Confident Multiplexing Without Compromising Sensitivity or Workflow

Q631 is engineered for high-sensitivity multiplex detection. It enables accurate amplification of low-copy viral RNA across multiple targets in a single reaction.

The formulation includes optimized enzymes and buffer systems that reduce inhibition and improve compatibility across both singleplex and multiplex assays. Validated across commonly used fluorescence channels such as FAM, VIC, and ROX, Q631 maintains strong signal intensity without the typical drop in performance often seen in multiplex reactions. Even when fully pre-mixed with primers and probes, it consistently delivers high-quality results. This ensures convenient deployment without compromising sensitivity or reliability.

Signal intensity comparison across three singleplex systems and a multiplex system. Our multiplex formulation (right) achieves consistent fluorescence across multiple channels with performance comparable to or better than individual singleplex setups.

  • Optional Format

Maintains the same performance and sensitivity as Q631

For field deployment and long-distance transportation,we also offer GO-Lyo U+ One Step RT-qPCR Probe Kit (Lyophilized Version) (Vazyme #QL229), the lyophilized version of our one-step RT-qPCR mix.

It features:

  • Room-temperature stability for extended storage and transport;

  • Ready-to-use format that eliminates the need for cold chain logistics;
